I discovered this site only a few days ago, so my comment will be a bit out of time, but I wanted anyway to signal you the only 4 mistakes I founded while reading (this very low number shows what a fantastic, incredible work you’ve done, a such thorough analysis of italian politics is very uncommon among non italians):
- You wrote pentepartito, which is uncorrect, the right word is pentApartito, which means 5 sided party (PSI, DC, PSDI, PLI, PRI);
- Victor Emmanuel I (lega paragraph) was not the king during the unification of Italy, he resigned some years before, the king was Victor Emanuel II;
- The founder of the democratic centre is Massimo Donadi, not DonaLdi;
- In the SVP paragraph you misspelled Immigration (immigrantion)

Local Elections III:
Mayors: HDZ – 2%, Ind. +0,5%, SDP +2%, HNS +3,5%, HSS -1%, IDS -0%, HDSSB -1%, HSLS -2%, HSP/HSP-AS/HCSP -1,5%, HLab. +0,3%, SDSS -0%,…
All in all, HDZ controls of major cities only Zadar, SDP gained Split and Osijek (de iure an Ind.).

LocalElections II:
Zupans: HDZ 10 (36% of population), SDP 3 (14%), HSS 2 (10%) + HDSS 1(3%), HDSSB 1 (7%), HNS 2 (75), IDS 1 (5%), Bandic in ZagrebCity 1 (18%). SDP lost Medimurje to its small ally HNS and failed in ZagrebCity and Istra. Therefor they narrowly won SplitCity:
Mayors: HDZ 32%, SDP 19%, Bandic 18%, other Ind. 10%, HNS 6%, HSS 5%, IDS 4%, HDSSB 2%, HSLS 1%, SDSS(=Serbs) 1%…

The upcoming local-elections in May&June will have had a turnout of 47%(run-offs 43%). But there will have been nearlly no changes on regional-level compared to 2009, when HDZ was slightly behind SDP in the opinion-polls, but did comparatively well in the local-election. So, HDZ has not really recovered with its seemingly shy leader, but the government has fallen down to the opposition´s low level, without the Laburists absorbing new votes – a vacuum…

Really good piece. Just one addition: non Muslims can now vote and stand in the general seat elections, and there is no seperate electorate. The 10 “non Muslim seats” are now reserved seats given out in the same way as Women’s seats.

I made the same mistake initially too and you may have picked it up from me, so double apologies.

However you still have to declare your religion when registering to vote, and many Ahmedi Muslims refuse to register on principle because the options you are given list Ahmedi as a non Muslim choice.
